Coffee Beans – Alyssa Schneebaum, Ph.D.

Coffee Beans

In the middle of the night I woke up feeling like a coffee bean being ground

Which led me to ask, of all things, do coffee beans even feel the grinding?

I thought they must, in some way. They are not like concrete or textile;

they grew, like me. They were in a pod, but only after they weren’t. They grew from another bean, just like itself

it recreated itself.

Being ground makes it impossible, then, to reproduce into another thing, so similar to us

But the coffee, once ground, goes into the bodies of humans, and who knows what comes out of them because of the coffee.

It could be a good thing. But I’m sure, only if it comes together with other tools and trainings to channel that light buzz of energy in a “good” way.

All of this, and maybe

I need to ask myself different questions in the middle of the night.
