Early lessons
Growing up in New York City, I learned about inequality early – from realizing at age five that not everyone can afford basic things, to seeing how racism and privilege play out in the classroom.
Crossing borders
Moving to Europe in my twenties reshaped my sense of self. Learning German, navigating cultural norms, and experiencing life as an immigrant gave me new perspectives on identity, belonging, and how societies organize themselves.
Sports & leadership
Sports have been central in my life. As a team captain, I learned to lead among peers – balancing responsibility with camaraderie and equality. Athletics also taught me perseverance, resilience, and the importance of caring for my body, inside and out.
Community & activism
From mentoring young people to engaging in feminist and LGBTQ+ activism, I’ve taken on responsibility and worked to create change. These commitments, personal as well as political, continue to shape my work today.
Constant learning
At every stage I’ve had to learn… and unlearn. From questioning what I thought I knew about privilege, to adapting in new cultures, to rethinking leadership and activism, the process of learning has been a constant in my life.
